Denture technology has improved significantly over the past decades and patients now have a wide variety of choices and can select the type of dentures best suited to them. While this number of options may at times be confusing, our clinicians at The Denture Practice will help you understand which types of dentures are right for you. This will ensure that you select a course of treatment that is medically sound, aesthetically pleasing and affordable.
The different types of dentures
Using our highly trained clinicians and state-of-the-art laboratory in Wolverhampton, we are able to offer a full range of partial and full dentures to our patients from our exclusive “TrueGrip™ Dentures” to implant retained dentures.
TrueGrip™TM dentures
Our exclusive and innovative TrueGrip™TM dentures are made using the latest techniques to ensure a stable and firm grip allowing you to eat and smile with confidence. They are made from a high quality acrylic base and whether you choose from our Essential, Classic, Premium or Prestige Range, they will not shrink or warp over time. They are less invasive than implant retained dentures and suit a wide range of budgets.
Implant retained dentures
Implant retained dentures are securely fixed to implants in the jaw. They can be significantly cheaper than full implants and the denture can easily be removed to be cleaned. Given the good results that are achievable and relative affordability, they have become a popular option to replace missing teeth rather than conventional bridges or partial dentures.
Immediate dentures
Immediate dentures, also known as same day or temporary dentures can be made in 24-hours and can be put in place immediately after you have had teeth extracted or if you need a new denture quickly.
They enable you to smile and eat with confidence and not have to spend weeks, or possibly months, with gaps following an extraction.
Flexible dentures
Flexible dentures are made from a material which is flexible and thinner than an acrylic denture, incorporating flexible clasps, and can therefore be more secure and comfortable to wear. They also have no palate so are incredibly comfortable and stop people gagging.
They are a great option for people who are new to dentures, who struggle with the clasps in acrylic dentures and those that may have irregularities in their mouth that make wearing acrylic dentures either difficult or impossible.
The Denture Practice is a Valplast approved manufacturer of dentures, one of the best flexible denture solutions.
Partial dentures
Partial dentures are used to fill in gaps left by missing teeth. They are made to fit around your natural teeth which are still healthy and therefore can help avoid the requirement of extractions.
Upper and lower dentures
All dentures can be made to wear on the upper and lower jaw. Your clinician will help you decide which solutions are right for you and ensure that you leave with a smile.
